SIXTH TASK: Where is the Outrage? Critical Pedagogy in Dark Times"

I found quite interesting the introduction of Henry, it was like a good way to summarize what is around us, and even that can be summed up in one word, oppression; that is actually what people that are in charge of power wants, make a world full of privatization and consumption. At the moment that these things became to be real, values, society rights, freedom, thinking, culture, among others are at risk, and one of the most important thing that is in danger is public schools, those that are a benefit for us  

 Nowadays, the role of the teacher has to be crucial for society, teachers have to teaches critical thinking, good pedagogy, values, etc. in order to have the freedom of doing correct things, because that is the need for education, and we have to take into account that the union between critical thinkers and good social citizens, is the combination that all world need.

 Another point, we can not be measured, we have to have the freedom to choose the relativity, because nothing is true at all, and nothing is false in a whole, also, because, are things that can not be measured, as feelings are; in this order we have to have freedom in all senses.

 society has moved from a culture of questioning to a culture where the important thing has been disappeared, this society drives a culture where we have to follow others beliefs and make people follow that believe too, instead of questioning and reasoning for everything that is around us. when we are following this, our learning is reduced, our thinking is really few and our life is in danger.

 To conclude, we have to realize that education is the key for everything, and even though we are being trained to be under others thought, we have to raise our voice and take into account that our thinking is a big explosion of knowledge, culture, pedagogy, among others. Our thinking is what makes us different from others, and we can not let our thinking, which is our key piece, be oppressed

    Your conclusion is true, yet education is manipulated by socioeconomic forces. That's why teachers have to reflect on their pedagogical practices, not only to teach young students but also to learn throughout the process.
    But how can they achieve that when schools are designed to kill creativity and passion?

    I agree with what you have said Vanesa, the role of the teacher has to be crucial for society, for this reason I think it is very important to give the true recognition that teachers deserve. In Colombia it is outrageous how the work of the teacher is despised and is only taken as a tool to implement a prevailing ideology. As you said, it is important “to take into account that the union between critical thinkers and good social citizens, is the combination that all world need”. Also, your conclusion is great in the way you emphasizes we have to realize that education is the key for everything, and that statement is true. If the world is wrong, the best way to change that is to study.

    I think it is important to highlight how thought is understood, because although this can free us, it can also dominate us. Many of the teachers, even young ones, think that if their students are in silent all the time, teachers have a really good classroom management. In this case, what you think is constantly repressed.

LECTURE OF STEPHEN BROOKFIELD ON CRITICAL AND CREATIVE THINKING

According to Stephen Brookfield, he explains how the professors can change the students' minds. Many students are focusing on only superficial knowledge. But they are not taking the challenge to go deeper to analyze, explore and investigate alternative perspectives. As a result, educators have to use strategies, methods, etc, to expose students to make an effort to think with critical thinking. When a student puts in practice these strategies to think with criteria, they develop good arguments. For that, it is necessary to know the difference between analogical, inferential, induction and deduction and how it can use.  If the student has creative thinking, it has to be open-minded.
