Stereotypes are a generalization about characteristics imposed upon groups of people because of their race, nationality, and even sexual orientation. When we are stereotyping we infer a person a whole of range of characteristics that we assume that all members of that group have. Most of the stereotypes tend to be a negative impression in which some persons could obtain a bad reference about a person who comes from a different culture, habits, etc. Consequently, stereotypes lead to social categorization which means that society tends to do prejudice and sometimes to reject a specific group based on stereotypes. One of the most harmed with stereotypes is the Colombian people. For many years, Colombians are been categorized as "narcos" simply in the '80s existed a one of the most powerful narco in the world called Pablo Escobar. According to Stephen Brookfield, he explains how the professors can change the students' minds. Many students are focusing on only superficial knowledge. But they are not taking the challenge to go deeper to analyze, explore and investigate alternative perspectives. As a result, educators have to use strategies, methods, etc, to expose students to make an effort to think with critical thinking. When a student puts in practice these strategies to think with criteria, they develop good arguments. For that, it is necessary to know the difference between analogical, inferential, induction and deduction and how it can use.  If the student has creative thinking, it has to be open-minded. The purpose is that you have to be in constant renovation with knowledge. Based on that, it is possible to draw hypotheses, ideas, mental frameworks and have experienced.

Reflection: emotional self-managment  F or me, my emotions and feelings are difficult to manage when I am trying to express my point of view. As a consequence, it makes feel anxiety, stress, and disturbance. When I express an opinion, I try to everyone see the importance that has a particular situation, but it is impossible to change the point of views. So I deal with these by listening to other people and try to be impartial and do not focus on my own point of view. Reflection: Influences on my thinking    For me, the influences on my own thinking that I need to be most aware of so they don’t prejudice my thinking are my preconceptions and beliefs because sometimes  I think we all have believed and analyzed in the same way but in reality, we all have different visions.
